Waiting Code
Pause the adventure until the activity organiser provides a special code. Perfect for synchronising groups or introducing timed reveals in live events.
Video Tutorial
What It Does
The Waiting Code stage halts player progress until the organiser — physically present or monitoring remotely — provides a secret code to the group. Players see a waiting screen and cannot advance without it. This gives the organiser full control over pacing in live events.
Configuration Parameters
Waiting message — Text shown to players while they wait. Build anticipation or give an in-character explanation for the pause.
Organiser code — The code verbally communicated by the organiser when it is time to continue. Can be any short string.
Success message — Displayed once the correct code is entered.
Tips
Use the waiting message to keep players engaged — give them a riddle to discuss or a narrative teaser while they wait.
This stage works brilliantly for live theatrical moments — the organiser delivers the code dramatically, in character, as part of the story.
Use a different code for each session to prevent groups from sharing it between playthroughs.
